Note: DOES NOT FIT THE ZX2 OR THE ZETEC ENGINE. The alternator will not charge fully under approximately 1,000 - 1,500 rpm. We have used this type underdrive pulley on daily drivers even with automatic transmissions for years with no problems. Usually, the percentage of time the car is actually idling is very low and as soon as you accelerate, the alternator begins charging normally. Unless you sit in traffic with an automatic transmission in gear and the headlights on for long periods of time, you should never have a charging problem with this pulley. |

The required belt size may vary up to +/- 1/2" because of manufacturing tolerances in the vehicle. The belt should be tight when going on as long as long as it fits. Don't try stretching it. If it goes on with very much clearance between any of the pulleys and the belt with the tensioner fully retracted, then it is probably too loose and you should opt for the next smaller size Belts are usually available in 1/2" increments and sometimes less depending upon the size. |
